SUMMARY: Aquaflow is the first company in the world to economically produce bio-fuels and bio-materials from wild algae harvested from open-air environment. Aquaflow’s patented process also produces clean water as a by-product creating significant opportunities for water remediation in cleaning up polluted waterways.

'EDGE': Leading next generation algae fuels and chemical company that has achieved a number of world firsts; such as the worlds first diesel derived from wild/ naturally occurring algae and worlds first SPK to Jet A-l specifications (jet fuel). Aquaflow is spearheading the next generation of renewable biomass refining and sits on the very nexus – or connection point – between the fundamental issues of water and renewable fuels and chemicals.

USP: Unique approach harvests wild algae from polluted waters or sewage and cleans up waste water discharge as an inherent part of the system. Competitors grow specially cultivated or genetically modified algae at great cost in special tanks under lights. The company turns the production of crude oil into a real time event.

STATUS: Technology has been extensively tested and validated in a pilot study in NZ over the last two years. Aquaflow (and the partnerships it has) now has the capacity to bring an end to end solution to the market. The green crude has been converted into jet fuel by UOP in 2008. Focus is now on project implementation and bio-materials R+D. Bio-materials are potentially the largest revenue source but have not been included in financial models.

BACKGROUND: Ranked as the #12 Hottest Bio-Energy Company in the World and the #1 company outside the USA by BioFuels Digest (www.biofuels.com), the most widely read bio-fuels industry newsletter. Green crude is a direct substitute for standard crude oil (a ‘drop in’ solution) - allowing carbon neutral fuels and chemicals to be produced with a production price of less than USD50 per barrel.

PARTNERS: Works closely with UOP (www.uop.com a Honeywell Subsidiary that produces the majority of crude oil refining technology) and is jointly bidding with Aquaflow on Aquaflow's first US project.
