The Aoraki Absolute Return Fund is a multi-manager, multi-strategy fund of funds managed on an absolute return basis by NZ Capital Strategies. The fund is currently allocating to 10 underlying funds or strategies and a managed account currently managed by nine leading Australasian absolute return fund managers.
The Aoraki Fund seeks to achieve attractive medium-term capital appreciation that is not correlated to traditional assets such as stocks and bonds, while complying with the investment guidelines. Ernst & Young monitors ongoing compliance with the investment guidelines of the Fund.
The investment strategy and proforma track record of the Fund is based on the actual performance of a portfolio of Australasian absolute return funds tracked and compiled by Ernst & Young since July 2007 and adjusted for the fee structure of the Aoraki Fund. The investment strategy and process intended to be adopted for the Aoraki Fund is based on that portfolio, and Ernst & Young assists with the asset allocation process with the aim of ensuring that the established methodology is properly implemented on an ongoing basis. This portfolio has performed well with no years of net loss since launch. Past performance is no guarantee of future returns, and returns can be negative.
A simple arithmetic average of the historic return information provided every month by each manager within the underlying portfolio has been compiled by Ernst & Young since July 2007.
